Lab-grown diamond tennis bracelet: a real 2.76-carat order for Australia

A jeweller's hands at a bench with a vice, a wooden peg, parts and tools.

We made a lab-grown diamond tennis bracelet for a client in Australia with bezel-set stones weighing 2.76 carats in total. The quote was USD 3,150. I can also tell you about a 1-carat pear pendant and a pair of studs we made, and how a new piece moves from your idea to delivery.

What was made for the 2.76-carat tennis bracelet?

The bracelet has a flexible line of bezel-set lab-grown diamonds, 2.76 carats across all its stones. We made it for a client in Australia and quoted USD 3,150. That figure is the total stone weight, rather than the weight of a single lab-grown diamond.

A tennis bracelet bends around the wrist while its stones stay in an even line. GIA’s tennis bracelet guide, checked 29 September 2026, describes the style as a continuous line of individually set stones. The setting repeats all the way around, so I look at the bracelet as a whole as well as at each place where one setting meets the next.

I work directly with workshops and stone suppliers in Shenzhen, where I live. When I choose a workshop, I look at its finished work: the settings, the proportions and the stones it selects for its own pieces. I can go to the production floor, inspect work as it develops and tell the jeweller what to correct. That access is useful on a bracelet with the same small detail made many times.

The USD 3,150 quote belongs to this order. A new bracelet starts with the stones and design you want, followed by its own free quote. Our guide to custom jewellery prices puts this order beside the other real price we can share.

Why use bezel settings on a tennis bracelet?

A bezel wraps a rim of metal around a stone’s edge, fully or partly. GIA says this setting protects the edge and reduces the chance of snagging (GIA, checked 29 September 2026). On a tennis bracelet, each bezel also has to sit neatly beside the next while the line remains flexible.

I check whether the settings look even when I see the finished work. Under a loupe, I look at every joint and every place where stones meet. The 2.76-carat total tells you how much the bracelet’s stones weigh together; it cannot show whether those repeated settings have been made cleanly. That is why I inspect the piece itself before it is sent.

Do the bracelet’s small stones have individual reports?

The stones in our tennis bracelet are small and are not individually reported. At ENBOM DIAMONDS, the report threshold is a centre stone of 0.30 carat or more. A lab-grown centre stone at or above that size comes with an IGI report included in the price. Smaller, side and pavé stones do not each receive one.

A report for a centre stone answers a different question from an inspection of a finished bracelet. For the bracelet, I check the physical work at the workshop, including its joints and settings. If you are considering a piece with a larger centre stone, our IGI report guide explains what to check on the stone’s report.

What went into the 1-carat pear pendant?

Another piece we made was a pendant with a 1-carat lab-grown pear-cut diamond set in platinum and 18ct yellow gold (18K, 750). We quoted USD 950 for that pendant. Its centre stone meets our 0.30-carat threshold, so an IGI report is included in the price.

A pear has a rounded end and a point. GIA’s guide to pear-shaped diamonds, checked 29 September 2026, identifies the point as the part most vulnerable to chipping. GIA describes a V-shaped prong and a bezel as two ways a jeweller can protect it. When discussing a pear design, I want that point considered in the setting rather than judging the stone by its carat weight alone.

The pendant also shows why I quote each design separately. Its 1-carat stone, platinum and yellow 18ct gold describe the piece we made for USD 950. For a new pendant, I would choose the stone and agree the design with the workshop before we give you a price.

How do you choose stones for a pair of studs?

We have made a pair of lab-grown diamond studs weighing 1.5 carats in total. With studs, I look for two stones that work together when seen as a pair. The total weight describes both earrings; it does not tell you how closely the two stones match when you look at them.

GIA’s guide to diamond studs, checked 29 September 2026, advises matching the qualities of the two stones and looking beyond carat weight. I pick stones in person in Shenzhen because a video can make it hard to judge their appearance. For studs, I want to see how the two look beside one another before agreeing to the pair.

We have also made a couple of chains and several pendants. Each began as a separate piece to discuss with the workshop, rather than a design taken from a ready-made catalogue.

How does an idea become a delivered piece?

Send me a photo, a link or an idea. I work with the workshops in Shenzhen to see what can be made as a piece inspired by your reference. We give you a free quote before you pay anything, and that quote is valid for 14 days. I choose the stone myself and can visit the workshop to check the work at any stage.

If you decide to proceed, the first payment is USD 200 towards the total quoted price. It is part of the price, not an added fee. The design payment is refundable until work on the 3D model starts; once that work has been done, we keep it. The workshop prepares the model for you to review, with three revisions included. Each further revision costs USD 50 and is added to the balance invoice. No metal is cast until you approve the model.

After model approval, we invoice the balance, due within 7 days. The design payment and the balance are the order’s two payments. Casting, setting and polishing happen in one workshop in Shenzhen. Production is 21 days from payment to dispatch. From order to delivery in Australia, it usually takes three to four weeks. We show you photos of the finished piece before sending it.

Delivery to Australia is included in the price. We carry the risk of loss or damage until the piece is delivered, and remake or refund in full if it is lost or damaged. Import duties and GST are included in the price too, so the recipient pays nothing on delivery. Our guide to ordering a custom ring online covers what to check before placing an order.

How useful are past orders when planning your own?

The bracelet’s USD 3,150 quote and the pendant’s USD 950 quote are prices for two specific pieces. They give you real examples to discuss, while your own design needs its own quote. The 1.5-carat studs are an example of a pair we made, with no price attached here.

A past piece can still help you explain what caught your eye. You might like the bracelet’s repeating bezels or the pendant’s pear shape. I can take those details to the workshop, find out what is possible and come back with a price before you make the design payment.

Photos of these pieces will be added to the journal. Send me a photo, link or idea, and I will help you plan a piece inspired by your reference.
